On Feb. 22, 2021, USCIS announced that it is reverting to the 2008 version of the naturalization civics test beginning Mar. 1, 2021. In the announcement, USCIS said that:
- Applicants who filed their application for naturalization on of after Dec. 1, 2020 and before Mar. 1, 2021 will have the right to choose to take either the 2020 civics test (128 questions) or the 2008 civics test (100 questions).
- All other applicants will still take the 2008 civics test.
