By and large, brexit has been discussed as a factor making Scottish independence from the UK more likely. However, as with everything else, brexit even complicates this in terms of the practical consequences. If what remains of the UK continues down a hard brexit path (as unlikely as I think that is), an independent Scotland would have to erect a time consuming, expensive, hard border with its largest export market before it can even get close to re-joining the EU.
