Overpriced? Review of Altenew Woodless Coloring Pencils

Today I have a review of Altenew’s new Woodless coloring pencils set of 32. In general, I have liked most of Altenew’s products, let’s see how these stack up!

Pros of the woodless coloring pencils:
woodless-all usable product
nice range of vibrant colors
Beautiful packaging
Coordinates with the Altenew Color range

Cons:
These pencils are hard and may cause hand fatigue
pigment load is weak
price
Trays are difficult to remove from packaging
You will waste a lot of product if you sharpen the pencils which may be necessary to color detail of stamped images

Bottom line:
If you want a woodless product I would skip the new woodless coloring pencils and go for the woodless watercolor version (Review here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BB-b1GWooXY )because you can use a brush to push color into the details or if you want to sharpen then you can save the shavings in a watercolor palette. They area much better buy and they even work better as dry pencils on light and dark papers. For me the new Altenew woodless coloring pencils are about the same as the Koh-i-Noor woodless pencils which are half the price (and honestly I don’t recommend those either) but that is just my opinion. You should buy whatever you think will meet your needs best.
