In this class, I start by looking at why access to more data and powerful analytical tools has made understanding statistics more critical than ever before. In particular, even if you do not use statistics professionally, you will be exposed to its effects in almost every aspect of your life, and understanding how to use it and when it is being misused is important. I describe statistics as the data science, and look at how it plays a role in every aspect of data, from sampling and collection, to analysis.
